“10 tribes. 1 vibe”
Davao is comprised of 10 different tribes, namely: Ata, Matigsalug, Ovu-Manuvo, Klata-Djangan, Tagabawa, Tausog, Maguindanao, Maranao, Kagan, and Sama. These 10 tribes though diverse in beliefs, cultures and traditions, are also closely knitted by a common origin and history that threads them together as one and the same. And with the advent of the month of August, these 10 tribes will again unite as one to celebrate the much-loved and well-known Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival.
So, witness these 10 tribes showcase their wonderful dances and colorful cultures as a way to give thanks for a fruitful year that is characterized by abundance, prosperity, and health.

Feel the melody, groove with the vibe and dance to the rhythm of enchanting music and smashing beats. Be in one with the festive surroundings and the people’s jovial mood; as Davao City celebrates once again another year of bountiful harvest with its month-long Thanksgiving celebration— The Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2011.
